An experimental animated sequence, created using code written by a generative AI, then output to an analogue print technique.
Originally created in square format, adapted for 16:9 video (duration: 10 seconds). Watch on YouTube.
Generative AI was used to write code for motion graphic sequences using the p5 javascript library.
Variations were gereated based on simple geometric shapes.
All sequences were created in black so they can be overprinted in colour later.
Sequences were imported into Adobe After Effects to test different compositions when overlapped. Three final sequences were chosen.
Each chosen sequence was output to 60 frames. Every frame was laid out on 1 page (pictured in close up) using InDesign and ready for the riso printer.
Three-colour riso prints, each comprised of 60 frames.
The colour print is scanned (pictured in close up). Each frame is recombined in After Effects into the final animation.
